Charlie Weasley was the second son of Arthur and Molly Weasley. As a child, he was fascinated with all kinds of animals, especially dragons. After being Sorted into Gryffindor, he was quickly established as a superb Seeker and a prodigy at Care of Magical Creatures. In his seventh year, a visiting speaker noticed his potential and offered him an internship at a dragon reserve in Romania after graduation. His mother was heartbroken when he accepted and her second son moved out of the country, but Charlie wouldn't give up his dragons for the world.
He visits often, to see his younger brothers and sister, bearing his mother's fussing about settling down and having children with good grace.
It's not that Charlie doesn't want children - it's just that he gets on better with dragons than people, and dating never really appealed to him. Fellow dragon-handler Katherine, however, has the potential to change that forever ...
